We all know about ‘intellect’ of a person as the faculty of a person of analyzing information in his/her memory, deriving conclusions from this through thinking and then directing the body to implement the decision so taken. Another term used in the title is ‘entrepreneur’ that means a person who takes up an independent business using his/her resources, principally capital, for economic gains. Thus, the entrepreneur crates wealth through the enterprise which makes the entrepreneur rich in wealth, and this richness induces prosperity in the society in the long run in multiple ways.
Combining the above-said two things together, we get ‘Intellect-Enterprising’ to mean a person who takes up an independent activity using his/her intellect for more intellectual gains. I intend to coin a new word ‘intelpreneur’ for such an intellectual activities. Here again like the business enterprise, the person earns more of what he/she invests – the intellect. This intellect makes the person richer in intellect and induces more intellectual prosperity in the society. A business enterprise is based on capitalism while the intelprising is based on intellectualism.
Intellect-Entrepreneur (Intelpreneur) and other Intellectuals
A person may use his/her intellect through being in employment of a business enterprise, but he/she differs from an intelpreneur in not being independent. Moreover, his/her contribution is towards creating wealth through the enterprise, but not the intellect. An intelpreneur grows intellect in his/her enterprise.
All sorts of professionals, too, sell their respective intellects to individuals and business enterprises to help them earn more wealth but not the intellect. Capital for investment and earning for an intelpreneur is intellect only.
Who are the Intellect-Entrepreneurs (Intelpreneurs)
A teacher teaching children independently with the intention of cultivating intellect in them, and an author creating new intellectual awakening in the society through his/her writings are two examples of intelprising which are independent, earn more intellect in the person and promote intellectualism in the society. As its importance grows, more such fields may come up for intelpreneurs.
The Future of humanity
There was a time in the history of humanity when physical might was considered to be the supreme attribute of a person and might was the right. Then came the time when wealth began buying physical strength and it is being considered as the supreme asset of humanity. We are in this phase of human civilization currently, called capitalism.
As scientific and civilization developments reduces significance of physical strength as compared to that of wealth, with wealth gaining controlling power of physical strength, the humanity, in-spite its mad rushes for grabbing it by hook and crook, it fails to provide the desired contentment to humanity. As a result, we are on the lookout for something that would provide overall contentment to human life. Many of us are finding it through use of their intellects to varying degrees.
The problems of current ways of using intellect through employment or professionalism are those of freedom of the self and freedom from a craze for the wealth. Presently, the intellect is being used for buying wealth, hence may be called a phase of intellectualism. Though, it is a welcome phase of human life with intellect ruling over wealth, the wealth still rules supreme for it remaining the final goal of intellectuals.
The freedom of the self and that from the craze of wealth lies in usage of intellect for earning more intellect by the person and for making the society more prosperous in intellectualism, what I call Intellect-Enterprising (Intelprising). This is still a dream but has the potential of materializing as the humanity is disappointed from capitalism and becomes more thoughtful. Those who lead this movement, shall be the pioneers of the future humanity.
In this phase of human life, wealth will not be required to buy contentment or peace of mind or happiness – the final goals of humanity even today. All these goals shall be met through use of intellect.
